Ted Schulz

Ted Schulz played the PGA TOUR from 1987-2000. He served as Director of Golf Instruction for nine years at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, and was a volunteer men’s golf coach at the University of Louisville for over 10 years. Before turning pro, Ted graduated from the University of Louisville, where he is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame. He played in two U.S. Amateurs, where he won medalist honors twice in local qualifying. Ted won the 1983 Kentucky State Amateur and the 1984 and 1988 Kentucky State Opens. Over the course of his career, Ted has four PGA TOUR wins to his credit, including the 1991 Los Angeles Open, the 1989 Southern Open, the 1989 Chrysler Team Championship, and the 2010 PGA TOUR Champions Tour First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. Schulz retired from the Champions Tour in 2015, and is currently is teaching at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Dave Peege

Dave is a lifelong Louisville resident and four-time Kentucky Open Winner. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he was a two-time first-team All-American, a two-time SEC Player of the Year, and a three-time first-team All-SEC selection. Dave played on the PGA Tour in 1992 and 1993 and has played in more than 100 PGA Tour Events. He’s a Member of University Mississippi Hall of Fame and the Trinity High School Hall of Fame.

David Brinker

David is the President of Mid America Golfing Events, the 2012 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion and an 11-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Finalist. His long drive journey began in 2004 at the Long Drivers of America tour Qualifying School in Dallas, Tex. He captured the interest of seasoned long drivers by earning his LDA tour card on his first attempt. David has a flair for bringing excitement and entertainment to both corporate and charitable events. Through his efforts, he has helped raise in excess of $1,500,000 for charitable events in the last eight years.

Betty Baird Kregor

Betty Baird Kregor is an LPGA Master Professional and owner of StraightShot, Inc., specializing in the DISC personality system to mentor and advise athletes of all ages and abilities. In 2014, Kregor retired from over 27 years of teaching golf, to consult athletes in the mental aspects of sport, serving as a “performance coach” for goals, scheduling, practice programs, college advising and more. Kregor is a nine-time Kentucky PGA Junior Champion, the 1974 Junior World Champion and a former college golfer at the University of Alabama. At the Louisville Golf Expo, Kregor will discuss how to become a college golfer, and answer questions from aspiring junior golfers, their parents and others.

Cory Kaufman

Cory’s philosophy is to create a repeatable and efficient point of impact. He achieves this by testing for any physical strengths and limitations, then designing a golf swing that is tailored to each athlete. Before he began to concentrate solely on his teaching career, Cory played competitively on various professional circuits, including the PGA TOUR Nationwide Tour and the E-Golf Tour. In 2008, he finished seventh on the E-Golf Tour money list with four top-5 finishes. Since focusing on instruction, he has become one of only 56 Plane Truth Golf Instructors in the world, and the only one in the state of Kentucky. He currently teaches top juniors, professionals and PGA TOUR players, and was ranked as one of the top-three instructors in the state by Golf Digest in 2016.

Colby Wollitz

Colby Wollitz is the director of player development at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club and prides himself on his ability to help players improve their swing based on their own, individual bodies. In his 11-year career as an instructor, he has developed the philosophy that “there is no perfect golf swing, only a series of acceptable positions that will change from player to player.” With this in mind, Colby has help many golfers improve their game.

Jake Spott

Jake Spott is in his second season as the head golf professional at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Over the past nine years, Jake has been a golf professional at multiple facilities in the southeast. He played collegiate golf at Minnesota State University and still enjoys playing competitive golf. Jake believes in having a simple approach to short game shots and has developed system to help you get the ball closer to the hole more consistently! Come Friday at 1:15 p.m. to hear Jake talk about his fundamental/system approach to chipping and pitching, and let him improve your short game!

Jeremy Lee

A 20-year industry professional who has dedicated his career to the golf industry, Jeremy was an intern at Augusta National and built two courses for Donald Trump, in New York and New Jersey. His love for people and passion for golf changed his path as he turned professional four years ago and is now Assistant Golf Professional at Big Spring CC. Jeremy is finishing up his apprenticeship with the PGA and will become a PGA member in March. His passion for instruction and growing the game through teaching simple, repeatable methods will have you playing your best golf faster than you ever imagined.

Mike Finney

Mike Finney is the Director of Instruction at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, and a 23-year member of the PGA. After a 17-year tenure as head golf professional at Owl Creek Country Club in Louisville, Mike moved into full-time instructio, which has been his passion for his entire golf professional career. Mike’s area of concentration has been to understand the golf swing from a scientific perspective in order to teach and coach it in the most simplistic and accurate way. Mike and his wife, Janet, have four children and live in Louisville.

Dr. J. Steven Smith

Dr. Smith specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine and athletic-related injuries. He completed his fellowship training at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, whose intensive training and research program is one of the country’s largest and most respected sports medicine fellowship programs. Dr. Smith is the Medical Director of Baptist Sports Medicine. He is also the team physician for Ballard High School and North Oldham High School. In addition, he was on the medical staff of the L.A. Lakers, L.A. Dodgers, USC football team and numerous other collegiate and high school sports teams. He has published numerous research papers, abstracts, and has made presentations relating to the advancement of arthroscopic surgery in sports medicine. Dr. Smith is a native of Kentucky, having earned his undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University and attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Rochester in New York, and then completed his orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is a member of many national, state and local medical societies.

Dr. Kittie George

Kittie George, MD, is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. Dr. George is a 1995 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Louisville in 2000. She completed a fellowship at Kentucky Sports Medicine in 2001. Dr. George practices at BHMG Louisville Bone and Joint Specialists and serves as team physician to Assumption High School’s athletic teams. Dr. George is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Jefferson County Medical Society, American Medical Association, American Physical Therapy Association and Kentucky Physical Therapy Association.

Eric Hammer

Eric Hammer brings a wealth of experience in both adult fitness and sports performance training programs as manager of Baptist Health Performance Training. Eric has 16 years of experience including 13 years as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach at the University of Louisville and University of Nebraska at Omaha, working with all sports. Eric also spent three years working as a private strength and conditioning/fitness coach, and has nationally recognized certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, Precision Nutrition and others.
